The Denel AH-2 Rooivalk Attack Helicopters developed by Denel Aviation for the South African Air Force (SAAF). The Rooivalk is a versatile weapons platform, designed to be compatible with different weapons systems, foreign and domestically produced. This versatility means that the Rooivalk can be easily configured to perform different functions.

The Rooivalks made by the SAAF Mokopa are armed with anti-tank missiles (also manufactured by Denal). The Mokopa-homing missiles is Llaser armed with a warhead in tandem for improved armor penetration. The Mokopa can also be equipped with a special anti-ship head. Maximum range is 10km Mokopa.

Rooivalks are larger and heavier than similar gunships such as Apache. Designed for use above the planes of Africa, trade hideability Rooivalk robustness and maneuverability, range and survivability. Despite its size, Rooivalks can be transported by transport aircraft C-130.
